Been a humbling couple of weeks seeing the positive feedback from readers of ‘Trinity’s Legacy’ and amazing to see the first five star reviews appearing on the Amazon UK and AUS regional sites. Nothing’s appearing yet on the main Amazon.com site, but it is only 2 weeks. Anyhoo, I’m already thinking about how to increase the book’s exposure there. It’s very hard being a first time author with no pedigree in this field. Hundreds of thousands of other books to compete with! I’m thinking it should be easier when the sequel is ready to drop (or when the trilogy is complete, who knows?), but I’m now looking at promotions, advertising etc.
Back writing “Trinity’s Fall”, and I’m really excited as to the direction of this sequel and how it’ll lead in to the final book. It’s all mapped out in my head, (and on a white board in my study) like a grand plan / campaign. This type of ‘long-form’ writing is actually easier than trying to cram all these ideas into one book. I guess this is the way it’s done now, I mean look at Marvel, with 22 movies (and counting) all linked and telling a propulsive narrative. Or Game of Thrones…
Next milestone is 50,000 words for ‘Trinity’s Fall’ … I’ll blog when I get there.
